Waypoint House would like to let you know what we are doing to help keep you safe and healthy.
Per the Governor’s Executive Order, all patrons in public buildings are required to wear face coverings. While in the public spaces of the inn, we ask that all guests come prepared with their own personal face coverings to comply with this order.
Our cleaning protocols have, and always will be, extremely rigorous. There’s a reason so many of our online reviews mention our facility being “immaculate.”
Here are additional steps we will be taking during the coronavirus pandemic.
For the foreseeable future, we will only be offering no-contact, self-check ins. Two days prior to your arrival, you will be emailed a code that will allow you access to the main inn door via keyless entry. Your email will also have a link to our YouTube Channel where you can view “virtual tour” videos to familiarize you with the details of the inn and your booked room. Once inside, you will find an envelope with your room key in the front hallway.
We will no longer allow same day check-ins in a room that has just had a checkout. Meaning, a room vacated at 11am on any particular day will not be available again for check in until the following day at 3pm. This will allow us ample time to clean and disinfect each room thoroughly.
Sheets, pillowcases, blankets, duvet covers and all bathroom linens are always washed between guests. Pillows, pillow covers, and shower curtain liners will also be laundered between each guest stay.
Hard surfaces in communal areas (stair railings, door knobs, etc.) will be disinfected multiple times daily during guest stays.
Communal soap pumps normally found at bathroom sinks will be replaced with additional personal sized bar soaps.
We will not be doing daily housekeeping during this time. Please let us know during your stay if you need trash removal or additional linens and we will make sure those tasks are performed.
We always serve a plated meal at breakfast (no buffet service), and we will forgo the communal coffee station in favor of poured coffee service each morning. Additionally, we will be providing personalized dining experiences instead of group dining. You may choose a 1/2 hour dining slot to enjoy your breakfast in the main dining room, or select receiving a tray from the kitchen and eating breakfast in the privacy of your room. Weather permitting, you can also opt to dine al fresco on either our front or back porches. Rachael, your innkeeper and cook, is a ServSafe certified Food Protection Manager, and we receive an annual inspection by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). Our most recent inspection was completed on 3/9/2020 with 100% compliance.
As always, frequent hand washing will continue during this time, and gloves are always worn while cleaning rooms and while serving breakfast. Clothing worn while cleaning rooms must be changed immediately after cleaning is completed.
We are asking guests who may not be feeling well in ANY capacity, to please postpone or cancel their travel plans to the inn. We will GLADLY reschedule your visit in favor of keeping everyone safe and healthy!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us! We are here to make your stay as pleasant, enjoyable, and comfortable as possible.
