Our COVID-19 Procedures

Waypoint House would like to let you know what we are doing to help keep you safe and healthy.

While in the public spaces of the inn, we ask that all guests who are not vaccinated to please wear face masks. We ask for guests to please come prepared with their own personal face coverings.

Our cleaning protocols have, and always will be, extremely rigorous.  There’s a reason so many of our online reviews mention our facility being “immaculate.”

Here are additional steps we are taking during the coronavirus pandemic.

For the foreseeable future, we will only be offering no-contact, self-check ins.  Two days prior to your arrival, you will be emailed a code that will allow you access to the main inn door via keyless entry.  Your email will also have a link to our YouTube Channel where you can view “virtual tour” videos to familiarize you with the details of the inn and your booked room. Once inside, you will find an envelope with your room key in the front hallway. Self check-in begins at 3pm on the day of your arrival. Please understand that to facilitate our cleaning schedule, we cannot accommodate early check-ins at this time.

Sheets, pillowcases, blankets, duvet covers and all bathroom linens are always washed between guests.

We will not be performing daily room housekeeping during this time.  Please let us know during your stay if you need trash removal or additional linens and we will make sure those tasks are performed.

We always serve a plated meal at breakfast (no buffet service).  Additionally, we will provide personalized dining experiences instead of group dining.  You may choose a 1/2 hour dining slot to enjoy your breakfast in the main dining room, or select receiving a tray from the kitchen and eating breakfast in the privacy of your room.  Weather permitting, you can also opt to dine al fresco on either our front or back porches. Rachael, your innkeeper and cook, is a ServSafe certified Food Protection Manager, and we receive an annual inspection by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). Our most recent inspection was completed in December, 2021 with 100% compliance.

As always, frequent hand washing will continue during this time, and gloves are always worn while cleaning rooms.  Clothing worn while cleaning rooms must be changed immediately after cleaning is completed.

We are asking guests who may not be feeling well in ANY capacity, to please postpone or cancel their travel plans to the inn.  We will GLADLY reschedule your visit in favor of keeping everyone safe and healthy!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us!  We are here to make your stay as pleasant, enjoyable, and comfortable as possible.
