Waypoint House, in the true tradition of hospitality, welcomes travelers from both near and far. Our elegant home offers you everything you might need — a quiet setting, clean, comfortable rooms, a delicious served breakfast, the convenience of walking to the Main Street of Berryville, charming hosts (if we do say so ourselves), and most importantly, none of the stuffiness often associated with Bed + Breakfast establishments. Two things you will not find here are rooms full of knick-knacks and Grandma’s doilies on every table. This is a modern Bed and Breakfast and we aim to give you the very best service with a uniquely human touch.
We have a very fabulous feline named Marlowe in our house and we are aware that some people may have allergy concerns. The cat is not allowed in common rooms while guests are staying in the house and is never permitted in the second floor guest rooms. In fact, he mostly just keeps to himself in the owners’ quarters! Your comfort is our main concern, so if you have questions please ask us.
We are a pet-friendly Bed + Breakfast and welcome you and your animal (with advance notice). Please review our Pet Policies on our Policies Page.
Your innkeeper, Rachael, has worked in the hospitality industry for many years, spending seven of those years as a Senior Account Executive for one of Washington DC’s top 22 caterers. From corporate lunch functions to full scale weddings with 150 guests, she knows the meaning of good service. For eleven years, owning a Bed + Breakfast was her dream and Waypoint House has been that dream come true.
Jonathan is Commander-in-Chief of everything else. From helping in the busy kitchen at breakfast to keeping the grounds neat and tidy, you’ll notice that Jonathan doesn’t sit still for long. His background is in theatrical and special events lighting so he knows how to keep things moving. Currently he keeps his day job as a Estimator/Project Manager for a commercial lighting company.
Marlowe is the fabulous feline who presides over Waypoint House. You will probably never even see him during your stay, as he is not allowed in common areas while guests are in the house and is never permitted in the upstairs guest rooms. However, on very special occasions you may hear Marlowe sing. Marlowe particularly loves to sing for his supper (or breakfast, for that matter). He has also been known to sing arias to his favorite toys during evening playtime, and though some people who have heard him report it as sounding mournful, be assured that Marlowe only sings when he is supremely happy. If you happen to be lucky enough to catch one of Marlowe’s concerts, consider yourself lucky. It means all is right in the world and he is feeling great, and so should you.
